Joust! Is a Medieval Jousting VR game developed for the Oculus Rift. This is a student game developed over the course of 3 weeks. It’s a game where you play as a knight to attempt to beat your opponent by breaking your lance on them.

Development

Accelerated 3-week development cycle. Work on Joust included hardware research, research into pragmatic VR design and final implementation into the Unity3D engine via the Oculus devkit.

Objects (lances) are picked up and angled from the fist of the player. They are then tracked in-engine and detect collision with the enemy, as well as the area of the enemy that has been struck. Depending on the areas hit, the player or enemy will be awarded points relative to critical wounds.
